Static Eliminators are not the only types of ESD products on the market today. In fact, because static electricity can be such a problem, a variety of products have been introduced to detect static build-up and then keep it under control. In a particularly sensitive environment, such as a research lab or medical facility, static control should be a top priority, or equipment can be damaged or employees hurt by an unforeseen surge of electrostatic charge, which is also known as ESD. Knowing what your company is dealing with is the first step to eliminating the problem completely.
Static control products include a variety of equipment, within a spectrum of price ranges that can detect where static electricity is building up and will need to be dealt with before it causes problems. Diagnostic monitors and detectors come in a variety of sizes, as parts of a static eliminator kit or as individual pieces of equipment. Once a piece of equipment, such as a giant press in a manufacturing setting or a small copier in an office setting is identified as ESD active, then the second step to eliminate the problem can take place.
There are a number of static control products that can eliminate static from an environment or an object effectively and quickly. If your office is full of computers, then laying out static mats to ground the static passing from human hands to computers to human hands will help keep the static under control. Static brushes and web cleaners are available, which can clean objects as well as eliminate the static build-up attached to them. More intensive static control products are also available, such as ionizing air blowers and ionizing bars, which can be installed and used in an environment with particularly high static electricity.
